New Zealand's premier metal band 8 Foot Sativa have risen from the Wild West of Auckland becoming a household name and creating Metal history in New Zealand. The huge success of their three previous albums, national tours, break- through chart positions and exposure in the main stream media has never before been seen in this country by a Heavy Metal band. 8 Foot Sativa have also shared the stage with many profile bands including Metallica, Pantera, Soulfly, Korn, Slipknot, System of a Down, Children of Bodom, Disturbed, Amon Amarth, Motorhead and Corrosion of Conformity. .... In 2002 the bands debut album Hate Made Me achieved Gold status in New Zealand, putting 8 Foot Sativa at the top of the food chain straight out of the gate. 2003's Season For Assault garnered five star reviews, entered the album charts at number 6, and made it to number 1 on the independent charts, a first for a Metal band in New Zealand. In 2005 8 Foot released their third album, Breed The Pain, recorded in Sweden with Studio Underground's Pelle Saether (Carnal Forge, Fleshcrawl). The band so enjoyed the dynamic with the veteran producer/engineer that he was brought on board for album number four 'Poison of Ages' 2012 sees the band releasing the best of compilation as they prepare to write the long awaited 5th album with the addition of Guitarist Nik Davies and the return of the one and only Justin "Jackhammer" Niessen. Melding elements of Black, Death and Doom metal, Aeternum Vale
are a four piece Dublin based band. https://soundcloud.com/aeternum-vale Aeternum Vale were formed in the Winter of 2011 in Dublin, Ireland by Dave Gibson, Colin Byrne, Owen Ryan Hanbury and Dave ”Tipper” McCarron. Blending a mixture of black, doom and death metal, the band put in months of hard graft in the practice studio, writing songs which would appear on the 2012 limited edition EP “Farewell Forever”. The EP was met with positive reviews and the band supported it...s release with gigs across the country. That culminated with a slot on the Cork Winterfest Metal Festival where the band played with Irish black metal legends Primordial and Greek luminaries Rotting Christ. The band spent much of 2013 in the studio writing songs for a debut album release. There were occasional gigs in Carnage metal club and a performance at the Black Metal Assault festival where the band played with Necro Ritual and Scutum Crux. In August, the band entered Track Mix studio to record eight songs for what would become 'Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges', the band’s first album. The songs were recorded live so that they didn’t lose the energy, aggressiveness and hatred with which they were written. Two tracks were released to Soundcloud as a preview of what was to come. They were greeted with great acclaim. .~Press Contact~ [email protected] Check these guys out on facebook > https://www.facebook.com/AeternumVale I really Love this band \m/ ~Mettal Miranda~ Here Is the New Review About the Band Chimaira
Chimaira released their new album “Crown of Phantoms” on July 30th 2013. I did not get around to reviewing it however. A few reasons being I hadn’t gotten my hot little hands on it till September as well i couldn’t really get into it at first. I picked it up and put it down repeatedly until I found myself singing along and getting right into the tunes while working. I then started re-listening to all their albums. I forgot how amazing this band is. They have such a hybrid sound from thrash to death metal and everything inbetween. http://fenmetal.wordpress.com/2013/11/23/chimaira-is-so-underrated/ Check out @FenMetal91 for Everything metal \m/ |
